Pulmonary/Cardiac Failure Lawsuits

When a product causes heart or pulmonary failure, it can have a devastating impact on the victim and their families. Over the years, several products have resulted in serious cardiac or other organ failures that have caused serious health complications and death. Pharmaceutical medications like Celebrex, Vioxx and Bextra are among the products that have been linked to serious medical issues, including organ failure.

Many medications have known side effects. In fact, most pharmaceutical drugs come with a long list of possible side effects. However, when medical products are prescribed to a patient as an anti-inflammatory for pain relief, as was the case with Celebrex, Vioxx and Bextra, then are found to increase the risk of heart failure, this is more than just a minor side effect. Possible death is a high risk for pain relief, which explains why these drugs are no longer on the market. Those injured or who lost loved ones due to heart failure, stroke or fatal skin reactions caused by one of these or other drugs may be eligible to make a product liability claim for compensation.

Organ Failure Product Liability Claims

The heart is not the only organ that can be in danger of failure from dangerous products. When a drug or medical device causes serious harm to any organ, it is often recalled and removed from the market. However, even if a product is recalled, there are often many victims that were harmed before the FDA or manufacturer decides to issue a recall. In recent years, products like IVF filters or proton pump inhibitors (PPI) have been under legal scrutiny for causing organ damage and failure.

Families and individuals impacted by cardiac and other organ failure caused by using a drug or medical product may have an opportunity to seek compensation.
